Queen Elizabeth 2
Bermuda, Nassau, & Newport News, July 1999
New York Sailaway

As we planned to marry in August of 1999, I persuaded Lisa to undertake the New Yorker's honeymoon classic, a sea trip to Bermuda, in July.

This pre-honeymoon was our first cruise, though I had sailed transatlantic before.

What better ship to choose than QE2 in her 30th year? It was a ship enthusiasts' cruise as well, and I planned to meet a number of Liners List friends.

By the time I took this picture I had recovered from a gastric bug that made me miss the entire next day, a precious sea day, recumbent in bed watching the bowcam and guzzling Evian water. Suffice as evidence of my straits that I did not get out of bed for the Fourth of July on a British ship.
Beautiful Bermuda

This was a trip that got way better as it went along. More to come.
